Adams County Correctional Facility
Adams County Correctional Facility is a federal prison for men located at 20 Hobo Fork Road, Natchez, Mississippi, operated by the Corrections Corporation of America under contract with the U.S. Federal Bureau of Prisons.〔http://www.bop.gov/locations/ci/acc/〕 The facility has a capacity of 2443 inmates. In May 2012 a riot at the facility claimed the life of Corrections Officer Catlin Hugh Carithers and left sixteen other staff members and three prisoners injured. Twenty-five employees were held hostage during the disturbance, which was ultimately quelled by facility staff with assistance from the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.〔https://www.courthousenews.com/2013/05/10/57518.htm〕 According to a company statement, the fatality was the second time an employee had "lost his life to inmate assault."
